Clinical Psychology Fees

 At CPSP, appointments are 50 minutes, except for the initial 60 minute appointment. The current Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee is $311, our standard fee is $250. 

​Rebates

​Medicare Better Access Scheme / Mental Health Care Plan

​We are Medicare accredited Clinicians. This means if you are referred by your GP or Psychiatrist under the Medicare Better Access Scheme you will receive ten rebated sessions per calendar year. 

The current Clinical Psychology rebate is $145.25 (gap fee $104.75). 

If you are experiencing problems with your mental health, such as depression or anxiety or other psychological difficulties that interfere significantly with your life, you are likely to be eligible for Medicare rebates.

Health Insurance 

​We are registered with all major health funds. We advise you to call your health insurance fund to discuss rebates as this depends on your individual level of cover.

You do not need a referral to be seen by one of our clinicians, however if you wish to obtain the Medicare rebate a valid referral is needed. We accept referrals from GPs and Psychiatrists and we are happy to discuss your needs with the Doctor prior to offering an appointment. 

​Steps for making a referral:

Your Doctor will develop a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and bill the appropriate item number to Medicare. All we need to have is a brief cover letter/referral addressed to our clinic or therapist. Alternatively your Dr can use our referral form, link is at the bottom of this page.

The referral must include:

1. The individual therapists name or title (eg referral to Clinical Psychologist or occupational therapist) . 

2. Referral for Psychological Therapy (Clinical Psychologist) Or Referral for Focussed Psychological strategies (Occupational Therapist). 
3. Dr's provider number

4. Date

5. Dr's Signature (Medicare does not accept a Doctors stamp as a signature) 

6. The number of sessions your Doctor wishes you to receive under Medicare (Maximum of 6 per referral)
